ProGRT #2, Chile Challenge

The good size crew packed up and made the long trek to Angelfire, New Mexico this past weekend for the second stop on the ProGRT tour.

Upon arrival, they were treated to the same course that was raced for the World Cup back in 2005.  While this was pretty cool, all categories would race the course and you can imagine that was a bit of a shocker for the Cat 2 and Cat 3 riders.  As a result, Chase, our Cat 3 12 and under member stuck to racing mountaincross while the Cat 1 and Pro members mannd-up and attacked the rocky course.  At just over 5 minutes, the downhill course is both technically and physically demanding.

Results…

• 3rd Place, Chase Jamieson, Mountaincross, Cat 3 12 and under.
• 8th Place, Darrell Jamieson, Super D, Cat 1 19-29 yrs old.  Interestingly, Darrell typically races 40+ but after some confusion at the top, he competed nicely against the young ‘ens!
• 3rd Place, Darrell Jamieson, Downhill, Cat 1 40+
• 40th Place, Eric Loney, Downhill, Pro Men.

All in all, the 529 Legion had a blast!
